Pointers for EMS On The Hill Day in D.C.

The success of EMS On The Hill Day depends on all participants coming together with a unified voice and consistent message to our Congressional leaders. Our Hill Day meetings will focus on a few concise requests to Congress.

To help you prepare for your meetings with your members of Congress on April 29, please review the following requests, along with the suggested talking points, that will be the focus of this year’s EMS On The Hill Day:

At the EMS on the Hill Day Briefing Program, on April 28 at 5:30 pm in the Virginia Ballroom of the Hilton Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, VA, each of these requests will be reviewed and you will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss with the other members of your delegation how you will present them to your members of Congress. At the Briefing Program, you will receive your schedule of meetings with members of Congress and other materials you will need for Hill Day. Dress for the Briefing Program is business casual.

On Wednesday, April 29, please proceed to your visits in accordance with your appointment schedules. Dress for your Hill Day visits should be either EMS dress uniform or business attire. You will need a valid, photo ID in order to visit your congressional leaders.

If you have any questions about any aspect of EMS On The Hill Day, please do not hesitate to contact our office at advocacy@naemt.org or by phone at 800-346-2368. We look forward to seeing you soon on the Hill.

Sincerely,

Conrad “Chuck” Kearns, MBA, Paramedic, EMD
