Minutes for October 7, 2008

Those attending were Doug McQuary, Mike Shankle, Larry Billingsley, John Fitzsimmons, Brandon Ward, Liz Henley, Bruce Collins, Dennis Rowe, Keith Douglas, Andrew Reed, Robert Byrd, Stanley Arnold, Jimmy Studdard, Chuck Latimer, and Richard Land.
After reviewing last months minutes a motion was made by Derek Merritt and second by Liz Henley to accept with correction. Motion passed.
Financial statement showed a balance of $ 33,162.11 with a motion made by Mike Shankle to approve as presented seconded by Derek Merritt. Motion passed.
A letter from EMS Consultants was read offering their services in negotiating with the MAC intermediary that is chosen to oversee the states of Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia for the sum of $3500.00. After a discussion a motion was made by Chuck Latimer and seconded by Bruce Collins to accept this offer with the understanding that the other states also have to come on board. Motion passed.
A letter was then read from Vice President Ken Wilkerson resigning from the VP position because of time needs with his service. Motion by Derek Merritt to accept the letter with a second by John Fitzsimmons. Motion passed.
This caused lengthen discussion on how to fill this position. TASA bylaws address this issue and allow the board to vote on filling the position. Motion was then made by Derek Merritt to take nomination between now and the November 6th meeting. Bruce Collins seconded motion. Motion passed.
