Welcome to the Tennessee Ambulance Service Association Annual Awards Program

Recognizing outstanding achievement in the EMS profession state wide.

Each year, TASA gives an opportunity to EMS individuals and services to be recognized by their peers in a state wide search for the best in our field.  Anyone can nominate individuals or emergency medical services that they believe are the best of the best.  EMS professionals can only be nominated on line. The following categories are recognized each year by TASA:

 


Jimmy Studdard EMT Award (Individual) Criteria: EMT who has significantly contributed to EMS in the Community and/or State level. Eligibility: Any basic EMT or EMT-IV whose primary responsibility is providing direct patient care. Nominated by: Anyone. Sponsored by

 


Larry Griffin Paramedic Award (Individual) Criteria: Paramedic who has significantly contributed to EMS in his Community and/or State level. Eligibility: Any paramedic whose primary responsibility is providing direct patient care. Nominated by: Anyone. – Sponsored by

 


John Bond EMS Administrator Award (Individual) Criteria: An administrator who has made a significant contribution to EMS administration on a Local or State level. Eligibility: Any EMS Administrator whose primary responsibility is the direction of individuals involved in the delivery of pre-hospital patient care. Nominated by: Anyone. – Sponsored by

 


Tommy Erwin Life Time Achievement Award (Individual) Criteria: An individual whose contributions to pre-hospital care has been consistent and long lasting, representing in effect, a lifetime of outstanding service to the profession and the public. Eligibility: Anyone. Nominated and selected by: The TASA Board of Directors (Recommendations are welcome) – Sponsored by

 


Bob Thomas ALS Service Award (Service) Criteria: EMS System that exemplifies outstanding professionalism and Service to the community it serves. Eligibility: Any EMS System at the paramedic level except those within the TASA Leadership.  Nomination of service where TASA Officers or Board of Directors work will not be allowed. Nominated by: Anyone. – Sponsored by

Dr. C. Robert Clark EMS Medical Director Award (Individual) Criteria: An EMS medical director who has made a significant contribution to EMS on a Local or State level. Eligibility: Any EMS Medical Director actively involved in the medical direction of a pre-hospital EMS system. Nominated by: Anyone. – Sponsored by

 


L. Gale Allen President’s Leadership Award Criteria: May be presented to anyone or any service deserving for recognition of service and/or support of TASA and EMS. Eligibility: Open. Nominated and Selected by: President of TASA - Sponsored by

Anyone can make a nomination in any of the above categories.

The one exception is the L. Gale Allen President’s Leadership Award. This category is reserved as an exclusive decision of the TASA President.

Winner in each award’s category will receive an award package that will consist of: 4 tickets to the awards banquet (one for the recipient and 3 for their guests); the winner will receive 2 nights stay in the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg; the winner may attend the TASA Mid-Winter conference free of charge and will receive a $100.00 prize, along with a crystal trophy.

This years conference dates are February 12, 13 and 14, 2014.

Nominations may be entered immediately and run until a cut-off date of January 22, 2014.

On behalf of the TASA Leadership and the TASA Awards Committee thank you for your interest and participation in the Tennessee Ambulance Service Association’s Awards Program.  We look forward  to receiving your nomination(s) no later than January 22, 2014. Nominations cannot be accepted after this date.  Awards will be presented during the Award’s Banquet on the evening of Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

TASA Board Members are not eligible to receive an award nomination personally nor may their service be nominated.  Individuals employed in a TASA Board Members Service may be nominated.
