Important Dates To Remember for Transition
May 31, 2014 – Last day to complete EMT-IV Course.
June 1, 2014 – All programs must follow National Education Standards for
Scope of Practice.
August 1, 2014 – Services can no longer hire an EMT-B to work on an ambulance.
An EMT-B is “Grandfathered” to that service only, if hired prior to
August 1, 2014. If they leave that service they lose their “Grandfather
Clause” and can no longer work on an ambulance, until they complete
an AEMT course.
January 1, 2015 – New renewal requirements effective. If you renew in 2015, you must
have the new appropriate number of CEU’s (See Above)
May 31, 2016 – Last day to license as EMT IV.
December 31, 2016 – Transition deadline for EMT-IV to transition to AEMT, if you
haven’t transitioned, you will go back down to an EMT-B.
